Individuals, Couples, & Families

If you've lost someone to suicide, I'm available by Zoom no matter where you are. Contact me.

  • Do you struggle with all of those questions that begin, “Why?”

  • Do you replay those last hours or days over and over again, convinced there were signs you somehow missed?

  • Do you agonize over things you said or did (or didn’t say or do)?

  • Do you want someone who really gets it?

I work with individuals, couples, and families across the country and around the world. They want someone who’s knowledgeable, experienced, and skilled,  and who also understands exactly what it's like to lose someone to suicide.

My rate is $295/hour ($325/hour for couples/families). Although I can't accept insurance, many of my clients have successfully submitted for reimbursement through their FSA or HSA accounts.

I can:

  • help you make sense of this uniquely complicated and painful loss

  • help you figure out what to say and how much to share

  • explain what we know from research about suicide

  • recommend carefully vetted books, articles, and other resources

  • teach you how to talk about suicide with children

  • connect you with others who've suffered a similar loss

I provide practical strategies for coping, and offer hope. Contact me and we'll take it from there.

“Thank you for talking through things with me when the pain of my loss was still so fresh."

“I think everything would have been different if I hadn’t heard about you."

"I give your info to everyone I meet who joins this unfortunate club, with zero hesitation and full confidence.”

“You're a national treasure.”

“Joanne gave me tools to cope and a safe space to discuss the reality of what it is like for my sons and me. She's amazing.”

“Not many people can do what Joanne does, and no one does it as well.

She is truly gifted.”
